VLB Berlin exhibits at two important trade fairs for the international brewing industry: The China Brew & China Beverage (23-26 Oct, Shanghai) and the Brau Beviale (13-15 Nov, Nuermberg, Germany)
With the Cervecería Kunstmann, the VLB has been able to win an ambitious and aspiring brewery from Chile as a member. The company with German roots is particularly successful in the craft and specialty beers segment in Chile.
As a trade fair with an accompanying conference program for brewers and manufacturers of alcoholic beverages, the Craft Drinks India was launched in Bangalore, India, for the first time on 4 and 5 July 2018. As part of the Beviale Family cooperation, the VLB Berlin conducted a sensory workshop in the context of this event.
As always, VLB Berlin attended to the Craft Brewers Conference, which took place in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, in early May. 3 lectures, a stand in the BrewExpo and the VLB Alumni & Friends Gathering were on the Agenda.

On April 25, 2018, our Honorary President Dr. Axel Th. Simon surprisingly deceased in Bitburg by the age of 74. He was closely associated with the VLB Berlin for more than 40 years.
New member joined the international network of the VLB Berlin: ANDRITZ Separation, a division of the international technology group ANDRITZ, headquartered in Graz, Austria, has been a new sponsoring member since January 1, 2018.
Three international breweries have decided to become VLB members: Since April 2017, the Elmir Brewing Company, Lebanon, has been a VLB member. As of 1 January 2018, the Swedish brewery Spendrups and Brunswick Bierworks from Canada join the VLB network.
