As part of the broad portfolio of services for its affiliated members, VLB Berlin held a seminar on brewing technology for the staff of Hijos de Rivera in La Coruña, Spain, from 13 to 15 November.

Roberto Biurrun, VLB Senior Advisor and coordinator for Iberoamerica, conducted this training, aimed at the brewing and quality personnel of the Morás and Agrela production plants.

Hijos de Rivera, founded in 1906, is a well-known brewing group not only in Spain but also internationally, with very successful brands such as Estrella Galicia. The family-owned company has been a member of VLB Berlin since 2011 and is the first Ibero-American brewery group to join the institute.

According to Hijos de Rivera: ‘This collaboration with VLB is fundamental to continue optimising our processes and guaranteeing the highest quality in every beer we brew’.

VLB Berlin provides technical support for its customers and partners along the entire supply chain, covering not only the production areas, but also aspects such as analytics and training of brewery staff. More than 120 employees from 20 different countries carry out this work at the institute's premises, which have been located in Berlin, Germany, since its foundation in 1883.
