On 6 January, this year's VLB Berlin Certified Brewmaster Course started. We are proud to welcome 27 participants from Aruba, Brazil, Canada, China, Finland, Georgia, Guatemala, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Moldova, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and the USA.

As usual, the first day began with a warm welcome from course instructor Burghard Meyer in the Singha-Room. At the welcome party that followed, the participants had the chance to get to know the group and their lecturers over a beer. Of course, VLB Managing Director Dr. Josef Fontaine also addressed the budding brewmasters, who can look forward to an intensive, instructive but also enjoyable experience together, with motivating words.

Our lecturers from the individual VLB research institutes teach the students in all areas relevant to brewing - from raw materials, malt production and brewhouse technology to quality assurance, packaging and logistics. In the training brewery and in the laboratories, the prospective Certified Brewmasters deepen their theoretical knowledge in practice. After the final exams, the group is rewarded with an excursion.
